well, it's june now. it's been a busy last few months. i can't really say that much has happened that people would find interesting, but it has certainly been busy.
i quit my 2nd job (the retail one) in may. i've been learning a lot with my new job. it's constantly changing, and i find it fascinating. i work with a great group of people, so it makes going to work much more fun.
we're looking at trying to go out to see jodi and richard in a few months. after our last attempt, i hope that this one has a happy ending! the kitties are still doing well. zen is as bitchy as ever and shadow is still peeing!
in an unrelated matter, i really like the clinique redness solutions product line. it works well with my rosacea. i'm glad that it is readily available (although nordstrom was out of the larger sizes, so i had to get the starter set). i'm going to a clinique event at nordstrom next week, so i should be able to get the larger bottles at that time.
i hope that things continue to go well.
i just looked and realized that i haven't updated this thing since december, so here goes...
january
other than an extremely painful badly sprained ankle, nothing interesting happened.
february
the sprain wasn't healing, and the doctor thought that surgery might be required to correct the problem. i opted to leave my previous job because i needed to be off of my ankle. my friend and former co-worker, jason, had been trying to get me to come work with him for a while, so i gave it a go. a few weeks after leaving retail, i'm in an office job. i really can't argue with monday-friday 8-5, but i have learned that ironing sucks. i am staying on in my retail job in an extremely limited capacity. i am working just a few days a month, so i'll really stay in touch with the customers and products.
march
shadow had some emergency surgery because his urinary tract reblocked. with much thanks to my parents and their credit card, we were able to have the surgery done (it's called a p.u. - it essentially created a new pee hole for him), and he's healing nicely. i'm constantly worried about him, but all of the articles that i've read indicate that over 90% of the cats with the surgical correction never reblock.
the torn tendon in my ankle healed well according to the mri that i had. the doctor said that since the damage to my ankle is all ligament damage. they're evidently all thickened and scarred due to repetitive injury. i read that each time you damage a ligament and it heals the way that mine have, you lose 50% of the strength of the ligament. well... multiply that by over 20 years of sprains and it just paints a lovely picture.
work continues to be good. i'm learning a ton of stuff. i spent part of sunday doing the retail thing. it was really nice to be back and getting that face-to-face contact with the customers. my ankle was really less than pleased. i had lunch with amy before we went in, and that was good.
j&r were going to try to come out here in may for their anniversary, but that sadly isn't going to happen. :(
my parents sold their house and moved into an apartment for the first time since 1976.
we got an appletv too. it is quite neat. i was really on the fence on it for quite a while, but i'm glad that we went for it.
we're also experiencing quite the early spring weather here. it snowed several inches on saturday, but it had melted by mid-sunday. it has been a mix of sun, rain, thunderstorms, hail, and snow today (monday). it certainly isn't weather that i'd like to continue to have.
april - april is almost here. i'm going to a partylite party at the end of the week. let's hope that april is better than march.
that's really about it. things have been very busy.
well. it's been a while since i wrote anything, so i thought that i'd finally post something. i'd like to say that i've been doing a lot of neat stuff, but i really haven't. we spent thanksgiving and my birthday in texas at my parents' house. since then it's just been a lot of work, work, work. we've made plans to go to chicago for a few days early next year to see jodi and richard. work has constantly been busy, so that takes a lot of my time and energy. on the shopping front, i bought the last edition tokidoki for lesportsac bag back in october. since that's over, i've purchased 2 more seatbelt bags (a houndstooth and a limited edition one that i'm getting for christmas). i'm planning on weeding out some of my purses and eBaying them to clear out space. i'm hoping that things start to calm down a little bit after christmas because we really want to start back on weight watchers. with all of the crazy stuff, it is really hard for me to focus. i hope to be able to report back on the progress that i'm making on that front sooner rather than later. i wish that they would come up with an iPhone app or interface for weight watchers. :) i've also been good with wearing my glasses that i've had for several years now. the optometrist had told me 2 years ago that i should start wearing them all the time. i did pretty well for a week or two and then i just got sick of it. we went back to the doctor over a month ago now, and i think that i'm doing really well with that. they really do make a difference in the frequency and severity of the headaches that i get. the babies and adam are doing well too. that's about it for now.
